Founded in 2018, Phase 4 Films is a San Francisco-based production company made up of independent filmmakers with the common goal of producing original, unexpected and inspiring films, often on minuscule budgets.
Originally joined under the filmmaking collective Scary Cow Productions (now Bay Area Indies), our combined skills include screenwriting, directing, cinematography, producing, location sound and editing.
Between us, we have dozens of award-winning short films under our belts, as well as the feature “San Francisco Stories” (available on Amazon Prime) and the documentary, “TransAware” (currently in production).
Our films have earned recognition at festivals and competitions around the world. Here are a few we're really proud of.
Over 40% of all trans Americans attempt suicide and many die trying. While giving visibility to the trans community, the documentary film TransAware will explore what’s behind this alarming statistic while helping the public understand gender dysphoria and how it can cause severe anxiety, depression and far too often, suicidal ideation.
